Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

We don't not have children out of choice, I can't have children naturally and we have been fighting for years for a family - so forgive me if that notion that "if you ever have kids you will understand" gets under my skin a bit. Anyway, getting back on track, you don't have to have children yourself...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Prior to starting school, the average is around 8 illnesses per calendar year (colds, gastro bugs, etc). Once in school that should drop to 3-4 illnesses a year. This is for your average, healthy child without any pre-existing complications. If my kid was sick for 7 months out of every 12, no way wo...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I understand that people, including kids, get sick from time to time but the amount of time this woman has off at Disco's work even pisses me off, and I don't work with her. It's because of people like her that people like Disco's boss don't want to employ someone like me, even if I'd be kick ass ca...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

The fact she has a child in the workplace that is sick is a massive issue for me, for two reasons - as the manager of a Ronald McDonald House, it can be considered a disciplinary issue if I attend work when I am ill, it's 100% against policy as it is a legitimate threat to the well being of the seri...

Re: Wellness Accountability - October 2018

A bit pissed with our scales this morning, weighed myself 3 times in a row and the variation between the 3 readings was 1.3kg - yet Disco weighed himself and got the same reading multiple times. Decided to make a ham, turkey and salad wrap for lunch using rice mountain bread. Calories are higher tha...

Re: Wellness Accountability - October 2018

Don't disagree with me, dickhead  It's not much about being honest, it's more the ability to get that iediate feedback on a meal so you can make adjustments on the fly. Also sending photos would give more ability for specific feedback feedback as it's more clear/honest as a photo than a diary n...

Re: Wellness Accountability - October 2018

I just read an interesting article where someone saw a dietcian and instead of keeping a food diary the dietician got her clients to text her a photo of every meal and snack they atr. She provided daily feedback on their choices (encouragement for good choices, suggestions on how to improve the meal...

Good work boo. I need to get back to logging next week, I logged sometimes this week but not every day. Fairly confident most days were on target though except for maybe Wednesday.

Re: Show Us Your Latest Purchase - October 2018

I ordered them from BoozeBud (https://www.boozebud.com/adventcalendar#delivery) I wouldn't stick a week's worth in the fridge at a time because we'd totally end up drinking a week's worth in one night - I'll just put the two beers for the next day in the fridge the day before, as I'm taking the two ...

Re: Wellness Accountability - October 2018

Disco and I did it for a while, it works pretty well - there's two ways you can do it, Keto which is (from memory) <20g carbs per day, or "Low Carb High Fat" which is <50g carbs per day. The important part is eating the high fat part of it. It was a lot of work in terms of tracking macros in the beg...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I love public holidays.... Christmas time, I'm using 5 annual leave days and get 11 days off straight. Then in April when Disco, Nekosan and I go on a cruise I'm only using 11 annual leave days but having 19 days off straight. I don't think I've had anywhere near 19 days off straight since we got ma...

Re: Wellness Accountability - October 2018

Yesterday wasn't too bad... calories hard to account for as we got noodlebox for dinner, but the rest of the day was relatively in control food-wise.

Weather forecast for the week ahead is looking improved so the exercise thing should be easier to stick to.

Re: Show Us Your Latest Purchase - October 2018

I bought wine... I can't drink it at the moment, but I really want to. I had it at a local bar recently, it's a local wine but they don't have a Cellar Door so I messaged them and asked where I can buy it from for a more reasonable price (the bar charges around $35/bottle and I know it's not worth t...
