Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Saw a kid playing Team Fortress 2 on his Macbook on the train. Made me reminisce about my many many hours playing on the Internode servers.

Then I decided to bite the bullet and put my hundreds of items on the Steam market, as I'm unlikely to play ever again.

Re: Show us your latest purchase - March 2017

Splashed out and bought a pair for the little people in our lives as well, as they always get new winter PJ's for Easter: Heh, I bought my niece and nephew some PA PJ's for Xmas. As I kid I was always disappointed whenever I got clothes instead of toys for Xmas / birthdays. Now I've become that gro...

Re: Star Citizen

I remember a time (probably around when all the shit above was happening) when saying a bad word or raising any concern about Star Citizen resulted in you being called a console lover, big developer shill, PC hater etc. etc. Clearly the honeymoon is well and truly over.

FYI I am a backer.

Face it, no matter how cool the trailers look, DC are having trouble actually delivering on the goods. But I'll still watch this :D

Went to Oz Comicon and picked this up. Just finished my first Gunpla model and I'm getting back into model building in general.

Also picked up some tactical gear for cosplay at Supanova later this year :)

Re: Show us your latest purchase - March 2017

The Division was fun for a time with mates doing the single player campaign, but once max level was reached it became a grindy farm fest which, prior to the loot 2.0 patch, was a ridiculous waste of time. By the time most of the fixes came out, I had played my 100 hours worth and called it a day. It...

Re: Mass Effect Andromeda

There are annoyances, some minor like being unable to unequip a helmet, to the unforgivable like the lack of a quicksave system. There's an option buried somewhere in the settings that should let you be helmetless at all times. I set it to helmets off for conversations, but I'm pretty sure there wa...

Mass Effect Andromeda

Discussion on the latest foray into the Mass Effect universe from Bioware. The reviews so far have been...lukewarm for such a highly anticipated game so far. Currently sitting at 77% on metacritic. I'm about seven hours in and haven't even scratched the surface. This looks to be a game that will get...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Only stevia I ever tried was the Coke Life. Honestly couldn't taste the difference, but I just end up drinking coke.

The key is moderation. My partner and I share a small 390ml bottle over dinner once a week. Every other night we drink water. So yeah, screw substitutes.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I just wish they'd release sugary drinks with less sugar rather than replacing it with sweetener. Not a fan of super sweet stuff and sweetener just tastes bad. Agree! That's basically just watered down sugar drink. I remember there used to be a juice with 50% less sugar and it just tasted like wate...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I didn't start drinking coffee until about 2014 (I'm 35). That was during a trip to Rome when I was like, "do as the Romans do" and had a cappucino with a pastry. Haven't looked back since and I'm a one cup every morning person.

Though today might be looking to be a 3 cup day ...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Bit of a lull waiting for Andromeda. Just playing some filler side missions in Assassins Creed Unity and mucking around Titanfall 2 on PS4. Sadly Battlefront appears to have really died, even the regulars have moved on.

Re: Sleeping Dogs

I'm actually just grateful that the game which was set in Hong Kong had people speaking in Cantonese rather than Mandarin. I didn't have a problem with the English dialogue; the protagonist was raised in the U.S. so his Cantonese was going to be crap anyway (notwitstanding the voice actor is Korean....

Re: Finally, a look at Borderlands 3 at GDC

I've had a damn good run with Borderlands 1 & 2, but I'm at that stage in my life where I don't have the time or commitment to do epic co-op sessions of Borderlands, which, face it, is the only way to play.

Re: Show us your latest purchase - March 2017

I had to replace the flooring for the bedrooms in my current place. The original carpets were badly damaged under the beds so weren't picked up on inspection. I went with bamboo flooring which unfortunately dents easier than expected. I'd spend a decent amount on timber next time. That's interestin...

I completed the first one and whilst I could see why many people liked it, I felt it was a clear Batman Arkham reskin. The story didn't exactly inspire me either along with the bland environment. I'll likely give this a miss.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Has anyone got any good games they can suggest? I'm stuck in that horrible zone in gaming where you're waiting for those games, you're really looking forward to (ME: A & Stellaris: Utopia), to come out and don't want to play anything else. I could really go for a good shooter to be honest. I've rea...
