Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

When I was younger (early twenties) I found a used syringe down inside the kitchen sink drain pipe of the apartment I had moved into.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I had months of that with iinet, but it affected everything for me. Thankfully, it's been fine so far this year, but it is definitely not uncommon to hear of people getting speeds slower than ADSL on their NBN :(

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Sounds good mate! DoW is the one I know the least, so would be a good way for me to learn it better. I'll be back in Discord this week, so will sort it out with you then! Plus I'm open to any of the others games on other days if people want! Need more true RTS fun!

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Looking to jump back into some good old fashioned base building RTS this week, hopefully to do some co-op vs AI. Will be playing any of the below: - Supreme Commander 2 - Age of Empires II HD (base game, not DLC) - Company of Heroes (New Steam Edition) - OpenRA (Free Command & Conquer Red Alert rema...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Duke Nukem Forever, not entirely bad at all. Though, after having played some Duke Nukem 3d Atomic Version recently, it does often leave me impatient, waiting to get to the proper "just blow shit up" Duke gameplay. Still, it's better than I expected it to be.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I've had altogether too many years of chasing achievements Ken, it's a sickness!. Well, if it ever helps, TrueSteamAchievements uses a score like the Xbox Gamerscore, so it gives you even more of a target to aim for in Steam. As well as having regional leaderboards for TSA Score. Actually adds some...

Not sure that I'd call a $1700 camera and $250 mic dodgy for non professional use, but the cars sure do sound as dodgy as ever! :P

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I go through phases like that fairly regularly, where gaming interests just drop away for me as nothing grabs my attention or it all feels like the same old stuff in a new set of clothes. At the moment, achievement hunting is helping me find some enthusiasm and jumping through my backlog of games, t...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I remember when everyone got into the free to play version of The Hunter back in the gon days. It always was pretty, with a very detailed environment, but gosh its business model was crap. Hopefully that is no longer an issue with this version, because having to pay for every little thing, almost up...

Re: Battleborn: Down, But Not Out

Gotta agree with Lunatical here and say this sounds so much like a paid advertisement. Not saying that it is, but it certainly reads like it. Battleborn is down and out, they won't change public perception now, and that perception remains "it's that other game like Overwatch, that no one plays." And...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

With a little help from Mini on the last achievement, I've now got Rocket League done to 100% again (until they add more DLC achievements anyway) Yay me! And it keeps me on a 14 day win streak of an achievement each day. My TSA score is getting better and better!

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I've never been able to get into the Witcher games. I have 1 and 2 but attempts to play either of them end up with me being very frustrated with the combat and it doesn't take long until I uninstall them every time. I'd really love to get into the story of the games, but I feel like the mechanics of...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Smashed and crashed my way through DiRT Showdown's career mode until I had a 1st place in every event. Mostly, pretty damn fun and reminded me a lot of playing games like FlatOut. Moved on to DiRT 3, to do the same, but now I am in the habit of using boost and I keep wondering why nothing happens wh...

Re: Your fave scenes from less popular movies

Falling Down - Not necessarily a "less popular" movie, but not one that often comes up when talking about "best movies" or "all time favourites", though it is absolutely one of my favourite movies of all time. This scene in the burger takeaway restaurant is one I will always like (and I'm surprised ...

Re: Is being a “Gamer” a thing of the past?

For me, being a gamer was more about things like being prepared to wait 30 minutes for a game to load from cassette, and I am definitely glad we have progressed from those days. Like with many others here, it was gaming that taught me a lot about computers but I am very happy have things e...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Been getting back to a bit of gaming and mostly getting my way through some singleplayer games. Managed to 100% Grow Home the other day and had a really good time doing so. The first time I played this game I dismissed it as repetitive, thinking it was all about just growing the plant to the top, bu...

Re: Australian gamers stunned as ABC cancels Good Game

It will fall on deaf ears I'm sure, but I said my bit via the ABC complaints process ( http://www.abc.net.au/contact/complain.htm ), mainly due to the fact that the programming on the ABC network is continually becoming worse all the time, and I don't see any value coming from my tax dollars. As I s...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Fair enough. I haven't been connected to or watched free to air television in well over a decade. Wow, stunned is the right word for it :( Was a big fan of the show and watched it pretty much religiously since its early days. It will be greatly missed. Agree. An upload of all the shows to Youtube would be good. They did upload some of the full original seasons to YouTube at the end of last seaso...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I got the same way with Rocket League awhile back. Great game, but it did steal a lot of my time without me even thinking about it. 300+ hours in 2016. I'm kinda doing the same with TrackMania Turbo now though; Canyon Drift is such fun to drive and the only thing that really gets players online. It'...
