For me it would be The Neverending Story... despite the fact that I own it on DVD and to this day haven't watched it all the way through in one screening. I should hunt down a copy of Willow too.

I never liked the RHPS for some reason, used to piss me right off every time we had to watch it in school (which was about 400 times).

We need a what if machine, so they can appreciate how much money they've lost by not doing a worldwide release.. John Wick 2 was one of the few movies I really would have liked to see in the cinema this year.

John Wick 2 and Logan were my two most anticipated movies for the start of the year... they really botched things up with postponing JW2's release like this. Oh well, it's only a movie but hopefully they made enough overseas to warrant a JW3.

Watching movies at home is better anyway:

- popcorn's cheaper
- you don't smell from sitting on your sofa at home for too long (well I certainly hope not)
- you can pause the film when you go take a piss
- you can pause the film when your significant other is aroused and wants to do it
- the screenings are at your convenience
- etc

And now we get a AAA action movie not long after it comes out in the cinemas.

Still not as big a stuff up as Bridge to Terabithia. You could watch that online before it came out in aussie cinemas.

My biggest issue with the cinema other than the cost.. $16 per adult ticket here, it's the other people in the cinema being dickheads

I've been lucky. They rebranded several Event cinemas back to Birch Carol and Coyle and it's a straight $8 for tickets for Cinebuzz members to attract more customers. My bro and I usually catch a morning or mid arvo screening when there's bugger all people so no dickheads to deal with.

The seats use to be better when they just reopened the cinema. These days they're starting to get icky again. Can't complain all too much I guess.

Hmmm, I didn't enjoy this second entry all too much. Found myself drifting away... first one was way better.

I really did not enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the first one.

The beginning of the movie was really good
The middle was crap, the only saving grace was the rave/gun fight scene
The end was crap - I almost got a feel like it was a mashup of pirates and the Matrix.

It's funny you mentioned the Matrix as this film gave me feelings from The Matrix Reloaded... it just felt like drawn out action sequences with bits of dialogue trying to sound cool in between but it's really stuff we don't care about. With the first one, each conversation had weight and meaning to it... they just sounded cool delivering the dialogue.
There's a lot of fill in this movie. The bit where Keanu is setting up guns in the catacombs was boring and didn't need to go on for as long as it did. Most of the gun fights were just people running into Keanu's gun fire and he's in the open. The bulletproof lining to his clothing just didn't do the action justice either... you just knew he could take a hit. I was hoping the sequence with Common and Keanu would be good but the whole premise is just ridiculous.

You can see Keanu really trying his best to bring the action to the screen but the directing seems off this time so Keanu's efforts are wasted. I really enjoyed the sequence in the first movie when the assassins invade John Wick's home. The use of shadows and the environment was done real well. There's no artistic flair to this second outing and it just feels dull as a consequence. Take the starting chase... the bit where the motorcycle crashes into Keanu's car is framed on his car and you just see the motorcycle move into frame and hit it. There's no sense that John Wick was the predator what so ever. I had a bad feeling from that initial point already.

The music also wasn't as good this time around.

Yeah when I said Matrix I meant it as a whole, same with when I said Pirates (as in the pirates of the caribbean series). If you blend the general themes of these two series together you seem to get John Wick 2.

I was waiting for Winston to say Vis-a-vis or Ergo a few times in his sitdowns with Wick, or the Bowery King to offer Wick a blue pill or red pill

Finally saw this... nearly fell asleep. What a terrible sequel and I really hope they don't make a third.

Such a shame given the first one is an action masterpiece.
