Argh! I just read a very recent interview with Mangold and the film is set 5yrs after DOFP and yeah, it's some incident that happens. That's all I'll say.

At the rate they're releasing clips for this movie, we should be able to view the whole thing before release!

Saw this today, really enjoyed it
If this is the last we see of This Professor X and Wolverine (as the actors seem to have indicated), I'm 100% ok with it. I think this was a fairly worthy death for Logan. Also so good seeing blood and stuff, I felt it really suited the violent world that Logan lives in

Gonna go watch this in a few hours but they've put the bonus scene online already...

(doesn't spoil the actual movie since it's not about Logan obviously)

It's not attached the Logan in Australia anyway (or at least, that's how it seems, wasn't part of my screening nor a lot of others on reddit)

Yeah, it wasn't attached to my screening. My bro and I stayed till the end just in case and nothing... not that either of us hadn't seen it.

As of current interviews, Jackman is still saying it's his last whilst Stewart says it'll be his last unless he's in a Deadpool movie.

I agree that this is a fitting end to Logan's story and that last scene with Laura removing the cross on his grave and making it an X instead was as appropriate as it could get. Having Logan buried not far from the Canadian border was also right on the money. You wouldn't expect him to find peace anywhere else.

I do disagree with the scribe and producers on cutting out a flashback of Charles' first seizure that was suppose to have wiped out the X-men...

http://www.darkhorizons.com/logan-scrib ... hback-cut/

Would have been cool to have seen what happened and maybe shift back to Professor X waking up and remembering what happened. Though I did think the fact that the adamantium was poisoning him as his healing factor failed was a good plot point. Loved how they detailed his failing health, right down to one claw not being able to fully extend itself.

As someone who's read the Old Man Logan graphic novel, I'm very happy with how they've translated that story/concept into the X-men cinematic universe and I'm happy with how Jackman's run as Wolverine has ended.

I too thought it was a good, fitting end for Jackman's storyline as Wolverine. I am curious as to how they'll put Wolverine into other X-Men movies though... I too think they should've put the flashback for Charles in because as it stands when the movie ended I was sitting there wondering what happened to them, even after the scene at the farm where he says he remembers.

In the movie, I think Charlies killed them. There's a couple of references that allude to it, his brain being a weapon of mass destruction, leaving the casino there's new report talking about a similar event at Westchester (Where the school was) that killed some of the X-Men, and cyborg agent man makes a reference to "what happened back east". A flashback to fully clarify it probably wouldn't have gone astray though.

As for Wolverine, X-23 can do it I guess, I think she's Wolverine in the comics at the moment

Yeah I picked up those references too, as well as the one where he is having a go at Logan saying something like "there was something happened but why won't you tell me??" but I guess for me it sort of left me still going, "what happened?" until it all clicked at the farm when he said he remembered and I assumed he had a seizure that killed them. I would like to know who exactly died, and yes, I get everyone, but just curious as to who was still alive up til that point.

Very interesting to read about how it's curious how the stopping of mutants being born could have affected other countries outside the US because they use HFCS whereas other countries use natural Cane Sugar...

Yeah i the comings she's now Wolverine, so she could take over I suppose.

Spoiler talk for Old Man Logan too... just in case you hadn't read it...
It seems that there's a good portion of movie goers who really got confused about the 'who killed the X-men' topic. Many had read Old Man Logan so were expecting it to be Logan who did. This is where showing glimpses of the event would have been beneficial.

I had read about Charles' seizures before seeing the movie so for me it was pretty much confirmed that Charles wiped out the X-men. Going into the movie, I was hoping for a scene of that first seizure that would drive the same emotions that the nuclear fire scene from Terminator 2 did. In my mind, it would have been of Logan wheeling Charles out to escape and Charles would have been half drugged up so we'd see what he'd see being hazy glimpses of his dead students and the odd X-men.

Of course, the tone of Charles' final words as delivered in the final product wouldn't have meshed as well after such a scene.

Yep, Coming to America is one of the great comedies.

And yeah, that wall of text was an intriguing read.

Logan's good... though, definitely hard to get around to see with the kids. I can't imagine it taking too long to come to online streaming services (by May I'd say) if you can't see it in the cinemas.

Yeah I literally just read someone saying they thought it was Logan due to the events of the comics, but I still believe it was Charles who did it in a similar vain to the casino scene, rather than his seizure controlling Logan and him doing it.

Yep, this is a very satisfying movie and a great conclusion to Jackman's run as Wolverine. Though, I bet Jackman will make a cameo as himself in Deadpool 2 where Deadpool actually visits Jackman to bug him about being in the movie.
