Could have sworn we had a thread going for this but Search can't find it. This gave me that same vibe Fant4stic did.

SABAN’S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.

I was a huge Power Rangers fan back when I was about 4. We had every episode of In Space taped on VHS, with ad breaks masterfully skipped although sometimes at the cost of a word or two :D

I wasn't hugely impressed by the teaser. It had that same vibe every trailer has at the moment? I'm just not excited about movies these days it seems.

I did have to go and watch a few episodes of Power Ranger in Space after seeing the teaser though, and that's always fun. Just so corny and simplistic, but so much nostalgia haha.

I got nothing for ya... I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

I caught some of the latest Power Rangers series the other day. It's still just like it always was, although back to the goofier tone of the original series (I grew up with In Space which was heavier, and then Lost Galaxy which was a huge shift in storytelling and tone). It's corny and pretty badly acted, with over the top transformation scenes, carefully choreographed fights and sneaky transitions between Japanese and Western footage. At the end of each episode a giant boxy robots awkwardly fights a man in suit amidst a tiny city set, only these days there isn't a stutter between the giant monster falling to the ground and exploding. Honestly it seems to be just as good if not better than ever.

It really makes me wonder why this movie is being made. Why are they digging their claws into a franchise that's still healthy to make it something else?

Honestly though that trailer looked pretty good. My biggest concern is that the Megazord looked too slick and slim. It should look like a man wearing cardboard boxes damnit!
