So it's certainly a movie... While it was good, I'm not sure how I feel about it and don't wanna wait another year for Part 2 or whatever they call it...

Can make a new thread if people want, if not just spoiler tags I guess!

I highly recommend you do not click on this if you haven't seen the movie
Man, it doesn't just stick the knife in, it twists it.

I knew some of them would die, but holy shit, so many, and still losing. Honestly I like the direction they went, so many heroes but they all feel at least a little important to the story being told, they all had a part to play.

Obviously knowing we have another Spider-Man movie coming does rather make you wonder how that'll work, but for now, at least I assume till something happens in Captain Marvel, that they're all dead.

Spidey dying in Tony's arms, was heartbreaking though

I'll just spoiler tag it so if anyone wants to go in totally blind they can
he's not, along with Ant-man, there is a single line reference as to why some are missing

Setting it up for the sequel much :P. Some questions - So using the gauntlet destroyed it? Since Thor is still alive was Hemsworth treating the two movies as one (I thought he said the Avengers' was his last one?)

I may as well type everything in spoilers. Can't be bothered figuring our which bits to hide and which not to...
I don't remember Hemsworth saying he's done after Infinity War... though, that could have been a while ago before Ragnarok. He's a hell of a lot more keen to keep with the role after doing that one and I think Marvel wants to keep him in the role considering how big a fan favourite Thor has become after Ragnarok.

I'm with Makena on this... they took it in a really good direction.

Next two films are Ant Man and The Wasp, and then Captain Marvel. Ant Man 2 might be it's own story methinks... ending with Thanos' final act affecting them in the post credit scene. And we know Captain Marvel will be an origin story set in the past so her appearance in Avengers 4 will make sense. Will be interesting to see how they undo Thanos' work... especially seeing how a Black Panther 2 and Spider-man Homecoming 2 is on the horizon. Perhaps the next Ant Man flick will provide a hint.

Also did not see Dinklage's cameo coming... I knew he had a role in the flick, and when they mentioned that the place was run by dwarves it still didn't click. I dunno if the way they used him was degrading or pure genius... perhaps both.

Yeah, that about sums up the experience... I still enjoyed it.

I'm now interested in what happens in Ant Man and The Wasp and how it feeds into Infinity War.

my theory, avengers 3/4 spoilers possibly who knows
everyone who vanishes plus the sacrifice are actually in the soul stone, possibly related to the micro dimension place in ant man, also adam warlock needs to turn up at some stage and kick ass with captain marvel (they wouldn't have him in the gotg post credits scene for nothing, also everyone will be back in some capacity anyways as it looks like stark uses his vr thingy to do through scenarios, also thinking captain marvel has either been in space somewhere or in stasis which explains here not turning up sooner

James Gunn said that Adam Warlock is gonna be used in GOTG vol3 so doubtful that he'll turn up in Avengers 4... but it could be a red herring I suppose.

Yeah, my guess is that Gamora and all those who vanished at the end are in the soul stone pocket universe too. So bye bye, Loki, Heimdall and Vision. Though, they could always surprise us and make Gamora truly dead with Nebula filling in her place on the Guardians' roster and a few of those who vanished could die in the pocket universe.

Rumour has it that they could be using the Secret Wars story arc for the next movie. And apparently Hugh Jackman was spotted on the set of Avengers 4 too so there may be a cameo as fan service to finally see an X-men character with the rest of the MCU... probably of them opening up a portal to the x-men universe and then quickly closing it when a beserker wolverine is rushing at them or something. A small cameo wouldn't reduce the impact of Logan being Hugh's final proper portrayal but it'll make it an even 10 appearances and please the fans.

I do wonder though... did the entire Asgard refugee ship get blown up or just half? If the entire of the Asgardians got wiped out, I would suspect that they'd try to reverse things to the beginning of Infinity War to bring them back... would be pretty bland to make a future Thor movie without the Asgardians... unless he bites it in Avengers 4.

Didnt do enough reading to know about the pocket universe - although that would certainly explain Spiderman Homecoming 2 (or whatever its called) that Tom Holland is supposedly signed up for

Do we really need to wait a whole year to see the next Avengers movie?

They could at least speed up when Ant Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel are released.

EDIT: Got this crazy idea...
So if Avengers 4 is meant to deal with time travel and other dimensions, for the latter, what if it was their way of acknowledging all Marvel movies in this generation?... I mean not just X-men but Blade, the previous incarnations of Spider-man, Fantastic Four, Ang Lee's Hulk movie... hell, even Daredevil. At the end of the day, it's all Marvel... they don't need to make these past incarnations an active part of the current MCU but just acknowledge that they exist in a nice little throwback in order to say how long they've really been in this game for.

sort of but not really spoilers regarding upcoming Marvel films
we do, I suspect Ant-Man and the Wasp will be set before/during this, and we know Captain Marvel is an origin story of sorts set in the 1990s, so not sure we'll get a lot of answers till next Avengers

i quite like that there is only a month or so gap between captain marvel and infinity war part 2, it would be nice if they were a bit closer but disney is releasing alot of movies this year

Tidbit - this is the first Marvel movie I've seen in a theatre since the first Iron Man. Just didn't think I could last without spoilers until there was a Bluray version.
Antman & Wasp is set before IW. It was mentioned somewhere but I don't remember where. (Actually anything with how infinity wars ended on the internet mentions both that and Capt Marvel happens before Infinity War [The Capt Marvel movie is set in the 90's])

This had a real Empire Strikes Back feel to it. The good guys put in the effort but in the end the bad guys came through. Damn it... Janet!

Question : So when you fade away to dust, your clothes disappear too? And the dust, doesn't actually leave dust? That car in the last scene was pretty nice and clean on the inside. Doesn't seem very realistic.

Overall I thought it was a great movie but I do have some thoughts on things that don't add up.

While giving Thanos all the stones maybe the only way to win (according to Dr Strange, there is only one way out of 14million+) and Tony Stark maybe needed in that one way, hence the reason why Dr Strange bargained for him by giving up the time stone, I am willing to believe in the idea that the Soul Stone is where they are all trapped.

Although, another option I think is that Dr Strange's mirror dimension may have actually worked. Even if the mirror dimension, when busted, supposedly turns into butterflies (according to what I've read on the net this is what happened in the Dr Strange movie (I can't remember without rewatching)) then who made that happen, Thanos or Dr Strange? I only ask because so far, Thanos's default move for changing the reality of things was to change things into bubbles, so then why did he suddenly choose butterflies?

Then there is Gamora, who is willing to have herself die to prevent Thanos from getting the soul stone and while he didn't want to do it, eventually Quill pulled the trigger, (only for those damn bubbles to appear) then why does she just roll over for what Thanos does to Nebula?

Also, Thor, you have an AXE now... would that have not been the perfect time to chop Thanos's arm off? Can't click your fingers without an arm. And no matter how much you try, putting on a glove that is not designed for your left arm isn't going to work. Hell, even OJ showed us putting on a glove onto the correct hand can be hard to do at times.
And then 15 mins of credits to get to only one post credits scene was full on. In the theatre, some people didn't even attempt to stay, the rest of the people in my session gave up just a fraction too early. I was the only person to actually see the last scene. Way to make sure to maximise the chances of people seeing you name in the credits if you participated in this movie.

Firstly... "How much for the arm?" - hehehe

And yeah, you made the right decision to go see this at the movies, asap as spoilers will pop up before the bluray or online streaming hits.
There's a lot of plot holes with the movie. For starters, why couldn't Dr Strange rewind time to before Thanos got a single infinity stone? They have the ultimate means of winning there already. But for the sake of the story and on screen extravaganza, I think we need to accept a few plot holes here and there.

And yeah, waiting till the end of the credits for the bonus scene was annoying. Mid credits would have been nice but I reckon some people would have still waited till the absolute end.
