I liked it as well. Reminded me of the older funny ones. I do prefer last seasons funny one though. The lone gunmen would have been great in it if they were still around

Still waiting for krycek to come back :)

Darin Morgan usually writes the funny episodes. For me, some of them work and others don't.

"Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" is one of my favourites but I hate "Jose Chung's From Outer Space". I think Clyde was still relatively serious despite the humour which is where it works for me. Ironically, both were from the same season.

Spooky Dad or Smokey Dad, that is the question indeed.

Not a bad character development episode.

Writers must have been on strike when this week's episode was due for filming.

I liked it, but it must have been the one episode of the X-Files with the least amount of actual words spoken.

At first I could understand why it was cranky with Fox, but wasn't sure what Scully did wrong (unless it was just guilty by association) but then I remembered she didn't "follow" them on facebook.

That factory must also have been a subsidiary of Boston Dynamics. But I would have thought after the way Fox kicked it, it would have thought "Meh, not like that sort of shit doesn't happen to me on a daily basis around here..." :D

But the lessons I learnt from this episode, is if you have the ability to give a tip, give the robot a tip even if they don't deserve it and also remember to follow and like it on facebook as otherwise it will have a spaz and send a robot army after you. It reminded me of Caprica and the whole idea of creating a robotic slave workforce based on the memories & soul of angry 16 year old girl with Daddy issues... what they hell could go wrong there?

Episode 8 is definitely my favorite episode so far this season. It's the classic formula... Mulder and Scully go to a small town to investigate a case but all is not what it seems. Apart from some social commentary dialogue that's shoehorned in and broke the pacing a little bit, this is the way I want to remember the X-Files.

Episode 9 got a bit gross. I'm not a fan of gross.

Yeah, the chemistry between the two in this latest episode was a bit flat. Previous one was decent but they could have done with some better monsters of the week episodes. It's definitely hinting that next week's episode will be how the X-Files will end once and for all.

Don't click if you're wanting to avoid spoilers...

Probably not a bad thing, at least for me.. it just doesn't seem to have the same magic it did when I was younger. Unsure if that's the show changing, or me, or both.

Agree. That last episode had too much exposition at the end. They're just not writing it as well as what they use to. May as well end it on better grounds than the first time it ended.

Huh, as far as mythology episodes go, I didn't mind that episode but it's probably because they've done much worse in the past.
So it's looking like they've put Mulder and Scully in a position where they can go off an have a happy ending and let the series end in peace. They've pretty much broken ties to the whole William character and CSM seems to be dead. No idea if Skinner survived or not but he runs better than he shoots for an older guys.

Unfortunately, much of the episode had Mulder and Scully apart which is usually where the show is at its weakest IMHO. Not to mention Mulder seems to be having a midlife crisis with all that driving around in a muscle car and shooting people dead.

It's not the series finale send off Mulder and Scully deserve. Their send off should have been a handful of good monster of the week episodes.

I didn't mind it, ties a lot of stuff up which in itself does a better job then a lot of series ever do. The thing that got me is Skinner... not once in his FBI training did they tell him to jump to his right? It reminded me of Charlize Theron running in a straight line in Prometheus...

I feel that final episode did a major disservice to Scully. Sure she’s supposed to be emotional because of her kid/s but it went over the top letting mulder do all the running around while she spent most of the episode crying about stuff.

I wanted a donnie pfaster style execution of someone by Scully she deserved that. I’m not surprised Gillian said she won’t be back after that

Story wise I guess it ties up some stuff. What I reckon they should have done is maybe a few movie length monster of the week episodes and left the mythology alone

For those that are still disappointed by how this ended, these bloopers are a nice way to remember this franchise... Duchovny and Anderson having fun...
