He's good in Daredevil so I'd say a stand alone punisher series is going to be full on :D

Wow. That trailer was better than the entire season of Iron Fist.

But seriously Netflix, don't screw this one up.

Lol

Is there anything in Iron Fist that is essential to understanding The Defenders or can I skip it?

It's definitely the weakest of the shows but I thought it was ok (I can understand why everyone bagged it). It gives a bit of helpful backstory on a few characters which may help ease you into the defenders but you could probably just read a quick overview to cover that.

I think the biggest problem that it suffers from is that there are a lot of other characters that are far more interesting/well performed than the Iron Fist himself, it's worth watching for them but that's about it. I thought David Wenham did a great job.

I like David Wenham. Might watch it for his performance then. I don't see too much of his work these days.

After seeing Iron Fist I find myself saying "Danny Rand" with exactly the same kind of inflection Matt Damon says his name in Team America: World Police. It just fits.

I liked it a lot better than Luke Cage but also a fair bit less than Jessica Jones or Daredevil. Just go in with no expectations and you'll get through it well enough.

And on topic; Using a song like that for the trailer sure does seem to promise big things. If they keep The Punisher as effective and lethal as he was in Daredevil but make the whole story about him as well... it might really be something special (In a non-Danny Rand kind of way).

That trailer reeks of Garth Ennis, hopefully the whole show does and they just flog his work. Gonna need some Strike Back level drills and savagery in the gunfights to pull it off though, old man Frank is a fucking savage of the highest order.

TBH, I stopped watching a lot of the Marvel TV series, I feel Marvel dominate DC in terms of movies however DC is dominating Marvel in terms of TV shows. I grew bored of Daredevil, agents of shield etc etc etc, have yet to see Defenders.

Anyway - this show, however, looks great and I will definitely try it out. Here's hoping the how is of equal quality to the trailers.
