I lent mine to my bro but he's had it sit neglected himself - lol

Either way, I'm starting from scratch with learning it again as well.

Since I was largely self-taught, having to start again from scratch should be an opportunity to do it right this time. Though I'm really unsure where to begin.

Don't even get my wife started, I've been trying to learn guitar for about 15 years lol, I was getting lessons last time but just found the practice sessions to just be boring, playing songs that are crap using 2 or 4 chords and just repeating them over and over and over and over.

if you get rocksmith and a cable, you wont need an amp.
and every song has its settings (like fuzz, reverb, played through a particular speaker etc).
so you end up having thousands of different tones to choose from when you just want to fuck around.
of the 400+hours ive spent, id say 200 hours is me making interesting noises and finger picking by myself, not learning specific songs.

Fuck Google, some rando person left a 1 star review for our business this morning, didn't write any comments and I can't find anything to show they've even used our business for anything, their google profile is empty apart from our 1 star review so its either a troll, someone from our competition or someone who we've had issues with but they don't want to use their real name because they are actually in the wrong. I did a facebook search of the name and the closest person with that name lives about 150kms away and is a teenage mother of 2 so I doubt its her, I contacted Google about it as soon as the review went up and they told me that its not their policy to removed reviews even obvious fake ones like this one. The guy I was chatting to admitted that it looked 100% fake, My options are reply to the review pointing out its fakeness (which I'm going to do once I cool off) and ask other customers to give us 5 star reviews to offset the 1 star. The rep from google couldn't even direct me to where I could complain about the policy, so I lodged my complaint in the description of the 1 star review I gave Googles Sydney office.

He definitely falls into the love him or hate him category, but I'm a big big fan :D

He's definitely a polarising figure. The reasons some people love him are the same reasons others don't. He can fight. That I will never dispute.

Click the link that shows how old it is (7m, 14h, etc) and it will change the URL to the URL of that specific tweet. Copy that URL and put it in tweet tags by pasting the link, highlighting it then clicking the tweet button.

My guitar is restrung at least once a year but I just don't play anymore.

Big fan of artists from Candyrat though, occasionally get inspired to learn a new song. Hit me up if you want any tabs for that, I've got shedloads of Antoine Dufour, Gareth Pearson, Ross, McKee, Dawes and more. I actually think it was the alternate tuning for every song that stopped me playing... it's such a fuckaround to change the tuning that I tended to learn one song but then only play that for days until I did a retune. Too much work with two kids!

it is hard with kids.
i try and stick to a series of songs in the same tuning, invariably standard E tuning being the one i have the most songs on rocksmith with.

Rocksmith seems like an awesome idea. How difficult is it to get a cable?

I still need to get one for my copy of Rocksmith 2014. This was about the best price I could find last time I looked. https://www.gamesmen.com.au/cable-rocks ... tone-cable

https://www.songsterr.com is a fantastic resource for those that know how to read TAB.

http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitubecs/ Amplitube Custom Shop is also fantastic and what I use all the time. Free amp simulator that allows you to buy custom modules. Should work with the Rocksmith cable as a sound input for a guitar (I use a Behringer USB link.) Love loading up MP3s in Amplitube and playing along with them.

I suppose with the game being 50% off on Steam atm, now is the time to take the plunge.

Let's see if I'm really unco - like my excuse for poor playing has been for years - or if I've held myself back by not practicing right.

Everyone starts out unco, so don't feel bad about that! Practicing regularly is the key, as much as practicing right. An hour a day (or every second day if that is too hard to find) makes a HUGE difference. I'm generally a pretty shitty guitarist, I can play well enough to play along with the songs I want to play (which is basically just bucket loads of Metallica), but if I stop playing for a few weeks I go straight back to being terrible. Timing goes, muscle memory type stuff slows my fingers down and makes them feel uncoordinated , and everything just feels "hard". So really try to focus on regular playing as much as anything.

It's a lot like Rocket League in that way - play regularly and aerials and everything feel much easier, but put the game down for a month and suddenly you go back to feeling like a noob in every match.

I was pretty unco even when practising regularly; I attribute that partly to being left-handed and playing the guitar right-handed, but I'm pretty unco in general - my handwriting, for example, is terrible.

On Rocket League, I uninstalled it because it was taking up all of my free time, so I don't think I could ever go back now. I was already over-levelled compared to my ability even when I was playing regularly, so I can only imagine how badly I'd go if I ever installed it again.
