After a boring day at work, a beer is good. I already knew this, but it is very true today.

Considering the avatars between those two, I would expect, nay, demand a Simpsons joke to take place - lol

I know I've complained about this before, but I really find iTunes to not be user friendly and intuitive even after all these years.

I wish they were more socially acceptable. Maybe the office environment is an artificially-constructed unreality where social norms unduly influence conversation, but it always feels like time off in-and-of-itself requires justification. Which makes me wonder how much of our experiences are so we can tell others of our experiences, but I might just be weird and overthinking things.

awesome awesome awesome mate.
stick with it, the hardest part is starting (say first 10-20 hours when your fingers are still learning), and 408 hours in now, its a freakin delight to play.
audioslave, bb king, ccr, 60s packs, stone temple pilots (plush!), the bachsmith pack, blackkeys, faith no more, smashing pumpkins (love it, but i am not so good at playing their songs yet) the doors are a few of the DLC packs i can think off the top of my head i really enjoy.

oh and king of the road - roger miller
Kansas - dust in the wind.

some songs are fingerpicked, (more so with bass).
i love having a guitar and a bass. spend some time with both and and up playing for an hour.

Any beginners tips? A few people suggest playing on 100% difficulty at a slower speed

for me i did the opposite.
i played any song i liked, at the setting it was pre-set (so very easy to begin).
id be overwhemled trying to get my fingers onto each chord and the song being played so slow wasnt a song to enjoy anymore, just low tones..it would not hold my attention for long and i probably would have not continued on.
i didnt play one song over and over and over.
i just played what i enjoyed, so i have so many songs on like 45% complete (With a few up in the 90s-100%).
what happens is you end up seeing the same chords in different songs, and it all helps anyway. you remember that song less to begin with, but you see all songs as similar. you find lots of songs move from one chord to another in similar pattens. so one song can help the next.

play songs you like, but try ones you might not listen to normally.

stop as soon as your fingers/tendons/wrists/neck/back gets sore. 15mins is good start. say 3 songs. stop. walk around, come back.

i also find if i play late at night, my brain is hyperactive afterwards and i dont get to sleep quickly.
i have also found it really good when im in pain for something, playing music puts your mind in a place where chronic pain doesnt hurt as much.

this fortnight it says ive only played 3 hours. typically its about 7-9 hours a fortnight for me. (VR and my steering wheel has taken up that- plus mon-wed im single parent after work while the wife works).

This is good advice for guitar. Played for 8 years, still pick it up and bash out Wonderwall when I'm messing around with it. Come at me musicians, not even sorry.

If you don't enjoy it then you are basically just doing a chore.

Play what makes you happy. For sure. I've really neglected my guitar for some time now. I also need a new amp, but with the infrequent use it would get, I haven't bothered.
