Oh, playing the guitar right handed when you are a lefty is going to be so terrible for you. Just restring it upside down and play it as a lefty. The guitar won't be perfectly setup that way, but still 1000% better than trying to play righty when lefty. (Be like Jimi)



I gave up RL for the community! Came back to 100% it with the newest achievements (though 1 is broken) and still really struggle to enjoy it now in public matches due to the idiots, and that is with all chat options turned off

When I started playing guitar at around 12 years old, I did it because I wanted to play Metallica. From there it was just a progression of mimicry as I learned to play my favourite bands music effectively and just got better and better at it. I've only ever been a parrot though without a single full song written (plenty of riffs and sections though).

Moving into acoustic was the same, starting with Tommy Emmanuel and then progressing onto Candyrat.

In short, if you want to play your own music, don't follow my path. If you just want to play because it's fun, find a style or a band you like and buy the sheetmusic (tablature is just the most incredibly easiest notation method ever devised). Then just play and play and play.

The main thing musically I do (should be did, given I haven't done it for years) was compose. In high school, I spent a lot of time trying to imitate Tom Morello, Adam Jones and Kirk Hammett (and before that, trying to play Green Day and Offspring), but as I got older I became more focused on trying to come up with music than focusing on playing. Which I think is one of the problems - I'd spend a lot of time experimenting, which would fail because of the limited technical abilities, and very little time focusing on getting the basics right.

I remember trying once to play a left-handed guitar, but my right hand is so uncoordinated that I couldn't make sense of the fingering. Besides, they're aren't left-handed pianos. It's just a matter of sucking it up and putting in the hours.

So, I would consider myself to be somewhat highly skilled at tap and pinch harmonics on an acoustic, but I could never even attempt what Mongraine does there (on live TV no less). He is operating on a transcendental level in AirTap (check out his other stuff too, composition skills are equally out of this world).

Out of this world is right, he is an amazing musician! I noticed he also seems to be doing live streams on YouTube now, I think I'll have to make a mental note to check out exactly when he is doing that.

On Thursday my best friend's father and brother were involved in a serious collision with a prime mover. We have been like sisters for 20 years, and her family is like family to me.

Her brother is okay, her dad is not - he was airlifted to Westmead on Friday morning and is now in an induced coma on life support.

He has brain injuries, fluid/swelling on the brain, 4 broken vertebrae in his neck, a broken wrist, all of his ribs are broken, he has a punctured lung and serious internal injuries.

Tomorrow they are going to slowly start lifting the sedation to see what he is capable of doing on his own, if anything.

Some tough days ahead

It's been a rough, emotional few days.

no some bands (eric clapton is one example) where they got licence agreement with rocksmith but not rocksmith 2014.
you have to buy the first game and there is a disc import toolDLC which then converts all the songs to RS2014 for you.

For just under a year now I've been working two jobs and while the money has been fantastic and it's kept me really busy, it's definitely taken to huge toll on my body both physically and mentally.
A couple of weeks ago I officially moved up to 2IC at my other job and with it came more hours and a nice little pay rise. So now I've finally moved back to just one night a week at Woolworths, it's time for me to get my evenings back and my sleeping patterns under control.
