For just under a year now I've been working two jobs and while the money has been fantastic and it's kept me really busy, it's definitely taken to huge toll on my body both physically and mentally.
A couple of weeks ago I officially moved up to 2IC at my other job and with it came more hours and a nice little pay rise. So now I've finally moved back to just one night a week at Woolworths, it's time for me to get my evenings back and my sleeping patterns under control.

Maybe I should start going to the gym...
Well done :) Disco will be pleased, he has missed you.

Hopefully! Also means I can start streaming again, I bought an Elgato for my Xbone about two weeks ago but it's still in the box because I haven't had time to test it out, hah.

Thanks guys! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted, I don't have to worry about late night shifts and early morning starts, no 12 hour days, no 7 day work weeks, I'm too young to be wasting my time like that atm.

You've gotta have balance mate... I remember when Disco worked for the airline, although neither of us were working 7 day work weeks, there were times where we'd go 18 days or longer without a day off together and it sucked.

They keep trying to make it ANOTHER social media platform, when really it SHOULD just be a method of viewing forums...
Agree that the older versions were awesome, and it got shit!

Sorry to hear Kharis

And apparently it is only Wednesday...

Tapatalk is a pile of shit now... it was great around 3yrs ago when I first bought it. Then they pulled the "sideupgrade app" shit and anyone who'd bought the good v1 was shafted. Most decent forum software, XenForo in particular, has good mobile experiences now anyway so using Tapatalk is moot. :ugeek:

On a whim, decided to take the time between Easter and Anzac Day off. Now I've got that awkward decision to make whether to do something with the time, or just stay home with booze, games, and Netflix.

Oooh. Amazon's coming to Australia in 2018. For real this time though.

I saw a thing about it on the abc the other night. All about how it will squash small business, like it has everywhere. They will run at a loss, just to crush competition, apparently, then with the competition crippled, they jack up prices.

Coles and Woolies have been doing that for ages with their markets and there's still room for others. But if Amazon offers halfway decent prices I don't doubt there'll be some businesses shut down because of it either.

The only real problem is if they can be a monopoly and thus dictate prices. But in terms of what Amazon offers, they're a distribution for global consumer products. What they'll be displacing is the barrier between us and those goods. In that sense, it would be like lamenting the decline of EB Games and other physical retailers as Steam moves in, or bemoaning the loss of the local record store when iTunes does a better job.

What local businesses do well is the sale of local products and services. If they do that, then they provide something that Amazon just can't match. Amazon are the logical inevitability of the consumer model from the 1950s onward.
