Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts
The girlfriend gave me a VR headset yesterday. It's the ones you need to download an app on your mobile and stick it into the headset as the screen. And I was so excited that it was one that I could plug into my PC.

Haha, this one cost my just over $500. Which is bloody cheap for a VR headset these days.
Also it is a headset not sold in Australia, which meant I had to buy from Amazon US and get it shipped across. Arrived 6 days earlier than the estimated date though.
Just tried out Superhot VR, I managed to punch a box an my work laptop accidentally...
Need to clear a fair area around me I think

Someone on ABC News' blog asked if they could use 91 ethanol petrol as hand sanitiser. I think that one has killed a few brain cells.

Finally got around to setting up the dishwasher... we've only been living here for about 8 months.
Also, after several unsuccessful attempts to log into the NBN router, I decided to try the default username as the password and was prompted to set up a new password as it was my first login... damn, that's not like me to have taken so long to have logged into a new modem/router for the first time as well.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts
Hope everyone had a happy Easter.
I've been busy with work, today marks the start of Week 5 of working from home, the first few weeks were dreadfully lonely but it's great now I have Disco at home. I'm just trying to balance staying productive with looking after my mental health. It's been a long journey to get that back on track and it's important to me to try and keep moving in the right direction with it.

Easter without a family catch up wasn't the same, mental health has taken a complete tumble, and now I am attempting to home school while still working as much as possible.
Honestly I am waiting for the inevitable complete mental breakdown at the moment.

Having the partner at home does help indeed. The girlfriend has been at home today and despite very little communication with her due to me having to focus on work, it's reassuring knowing she's home safe instead of at the day care centre where there's still a risk that one of her kids may be a carrier.CherryRed wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 15:53I've been busy with work, today marks the start of Week 5 of working from home, the first few weeks were dreadfully lonely but it's great now I have Disco at home. If you need or would like to chat to someone, I'm unboxing you my number - download telegram, I use it as a chat program all the time and I'm happy to chat anytime. I'm qualified in Mental Health First Aid and am a Peer Support Person in my workplace, but we don't even need to talk about that shit, we can just kick tyres and talk shit if that's what you need. It's a constant thing, caring for one's own mental health during this time. I've got a whole suite of tips and tricks to help you get through the day if you need them.

I'm surprisingly enjoying the Mortal Kombat mobile game atm... but the fact that it struggles with getting net access on mobile data means I probably won't play it much on the go.

Went to Coles on a whim after doing my exercise/bottle recycling and THEY HAD TOILET PAPER! It's a week after Easter miracle!
[Edit: Should note, I also picked up some fresh food. Didn't just go to browse!]

And eggs stock looks to be coming back too.
Now if only they had stock of frozen corn kernels where I am.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts
I panicked. In my defense, I have medically diagnosed general anxiety disorder and panic disorder, and seeing aisles devoid of dunny paper and tissues felt like a solid reason to freak the fuck out.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts
But the real question is did you panic so much that you bought enough toilet paper to last 43 years?
It's fine to feel a bit panicky and stressed out over the whole situation as long as you don't then actively make things worse.

I think the only extra we bought loo paper wise was an 18 pack from Office Works via click and collect a few weeks ago, which we are just up to using now.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts
Yeah, my fucktardary wasn't directed at genuine feelings of anxiety etc., more so the super-over-the-top reactionary panic buying. No ill intended Cherry
