Show Us Your Latest Purchase - November 2018

Post by Lucifer Morningstar » 06 Nov 2018, 14:07

Upgraded my plan at Telstra (don't judge me):
Image
Case
Image
Screen protector (2 cos I'm not very good)
Image

Just FYI the Otterbox screen protectors are shithouse and don't fully stick.

Assorted stuff. Will try other screen protectors if they work with the case I use.

Cute little hammer.

Always seem to get fewer cables as time goes on. New phone means new cable type. So always good to have spares.
Image
The clip ones seem to fly off a lot. Button ones may eliminate that problem. Also can never get a real leather belt these days. So these will do for my suit.

I must be mad , another LARGE model to build :( (Couldn't resist though , $93 instead $140ish due to a damaged box , but no damage to the kit  )
Image

1/72 WWII German Landcruiser P.1000 Ratte , a 1000 ton super heavy tank using the turret from a heavy cruiser with twin 28cm guns and powered by up to 4 uboat engines  - this actually got so far as the builders were starting to lay it out for construction when Speer killed it in 1943!

unfortunately the only reviews are in german but you'll get an idea of the size of this thing

Bought 3 of these for 3 of us in the office:

Then others were wishing they put in an order with me :-P

(it's a vanilla custard cronut for those wondering... very nice though a little rich so I wouldn't want to be eating too many regularly)

Part of the reason Speer canned it , but I think with the size of the thing it didn't need bridges to cross rivers , and I'd think it'd pretty much make its own roads where ever it went 8-)

It was always a terrible but entertaining idea. I can't imagine trying to really move it anywhere, never mind the rivers you'd also have to bulldoze a path through trees, houses, hills...

Then there is this enormous target for artillery and bombers, with the previously mentioned bulldozed path pointing to it like a nice arrow.

Jesus christ, that burger looks amazing, now I want Smoking Brothers.

Purchased a rustic bourbon barrel this afternoon, Disco and I will restore it over some coming weekends to use as a table on our porch and we'll also hunt for some new chairs that work better with it than the cheap bunnings chairs that are there now. It'll never look new or perfect, but we think it's imperfections will form part of it's charm:

I ended up buying one today while I was in getting the Aldi Beer Advent Calendar.
Works really well to hold the paints and brushes.

I got nothing for ya... I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

I get pretty much all my shirts from Bonds these days. I used to get plain tees from kmart/bigw, but I found they would start looking worn out after a few uses. The bonds shirts last ages.

Was gonna make some bonds purchases for Disco, but Neko linked me too late and I'd had seventy million glasses of wine and it was all just too hard.

BoozeBud had some impressive savings for the Frenzy sale thing though, so we stocked up on 3 cartons of Cooper's Original Pale Ale for the festive season - scored 3 cartons for $35.96/each delivered. Dan Murphy's is $46.90/carton and and BWS is $53.00/carton so pretty pleased with the price we scored it for. If anyone's interested in purchasing something, code bud277X will get you an extra 15% off your order.

Also purchased some shampoo stuff for Disco:
Image

and also for me:
Image

Salon quality stuff seems to last longer, takes me over 4 months to go through a 1 litre container (I'm a daily washer) and Disco about 3 months to go through the American Crew.

2 more
Image
I tried applying the first 2 and failed. Got the major shits and smashed them.
The 2 newest ones I also failed and gave up. Have the glue and protectors still, just can't do it.

So I went to a mobile store, bought a 4th one and they applied it while making it look easy.
Huzzah!

All previous protectors fell off. Seriously shitty.
Spent way too much on fucking mobile accessories.

Image

If the new protector falls off I will probably just glue a random one from Amazon on with Loca Glue bought from the same place...
