Erryone get on and join me! I can help you farm the first few bosses for new 'frame parts, and eventually you can help me with my current missions!

So my 2TB Seagate hard drive containing my Steam folder just carked it last night. I'm hoping it might start again today but not optimistic. Either way I will be replacing.

It got me thinking: I never uninstall games and let them accumulate over time. Yet I never go back to replay them with the few exceptions. At this stage of my life, I'm rarely playing more than two games at a time.

So instead of buying another 2TB drive, should I look at a smaller SSD instead, say 500mb? And start the habit of only having games I'm currently playing installed? Thoughts?

I am at the same point Ralph. I have recently bought a 2TB drive for $99, just to get me through, but thinking it will end up as a storage drive, and I will have a single 500GB SSD for gaming.

The prices have come down so much that it is actually viable these days.
And honestly, 500GB is about 7 or 8 big games installed. It is rare that I play that many... and hopefully with NBN coming in the next few months that I can download a game quick enough that it isn't a worry.

Given internet speeds, you can definitely get away with a 500GB SSD given how quickly you can download different titles.

The only thing I worry about is my save games. I've lost them twice due to HDD crashes, the most calamitous of them was 6 years worth of saves. Given how frequently I reinstall older games, that hurt me real bad.

Still home alone, wish I could call in sick... 14 hours yesterday of gaming, 6 and a half tonight and wednesday night (i've got a day trip to Sydney on Tuesday) then that glorious two day binge of Thursday and Friday. My brother is in town and coming to visit, have given him fair warning that this is my first quiet time in over a year so I ain't leavin' the house!

Yeah the loss of save games initially irked me but then I rationalised that I rarely, if ever, replay my older games. Plus some games are saved in the OS drive or on the cloud so its not a total loss.

I agree with Mellie, I only have a 500GB SSD now, but I also have a 2TB drive that I store all my media on, that way the games are on the SSD, and unlike Mellie I never have 134954930 games on the go at once

I have a 500 GB SSD for Steam, but recently with a few big AAA games installed it felt pretty damn small.

I think GTA V + DOOM + Hitman was about 200 GB alone.

If you've got decent internet, like Mellie said it's no drama just redownloading stuff if you need to, it doesn't bother me too much.

Mind you I had a 256GB for games until recently.. soooo

I tried using getting a 500GB SSD from stopping me installing too many games at once - I have the tendency to install a lot but never get around to playing.

Now I have 7 games installed, which is still 5 more than I'm currently playing. Knocking over GTA:V (currently ~40% through) should few up some space.

Speaking of GTA:V, my current play style seems to be
1. Steal a car
2. Change radio station to something that tickles my fancy
3. Drive around while listening to the radio and ignore those story markers.

Thanks for the input, I reckon a 500gb Crucial SSD ($189) will be my choice. My internet is pretty average but I'm unlikely to be frequently downloading games.

I've been thinking the same recently I've got my 256GB SSD with OS and like 3 games I regularly play then a 3TB with everything else. I could probably cut the actual games down to fit on a 500GB SSD, there are some games I hardly play anymore but like keeping installed just in case, like WoW or CSGO. and keep my media stuff on the 3TB

Yeah I've got NBN, so it's no big deal, just would suck for people stuck on ADSL

Surprising how much more fun Titanfall 2 is with a group. Joined a guy from work and his mates tonight, absolutely smashed every round thanks to the ability to co-ordinate. Never seen Titans live as long as ours did given how carefully we approach it... calling out 'Laser Core' and having everyone part as you demolish a group of enemies never gets old.

Anyone installed Warframe on their Xbox yet? Ready when you are :)

Wife is almost done with the Titanfall 2 campaign on PS4. There were a few frustrating parts, but she's really enjoyed most of it.

BT seems kinda awesome.

Can confirm Titanfall 2 multiplayer is a lot of fun. Although I'm pretty average on the PS4 controller, its an easy game to jump into, and the matches (attrition anyway) are nice and quick.

That's why I got it on PS4...the community is bigger and likely has greater longevity.

Struggling with the turn timers in XCOM Long War 2. Thinking about restarting on the easiest level (which I presume is as hard as the easiest level was in Long War 1) to get used to the new mechanics.

I struggled to beat XCOM2. There's no way I could hack the long war.

I finished XCOM 2 on Veteran Ironman, but I'm struggling with Long War 2.

Pillars of Eternity 2 Fig campaign is up.
No idea why they didn't use Kickstarter again or why there wasn't even a KS update to let us original backers know about it.

Got a $5 discount from being a returning Fig user (from the Wasteland 3 campaign). Sure, I'll jump in at 24usd.

Same. Between that and the isometric RPG from the makers of STASIS over on Kickstarter, I'm all pledged out atm.
