Roll20 - Online RPGs - Who's playing?

Post by DarkMellie » 02 Aug 2016, 21:45

www.roll20.net

It's an online portal that lets you play most rulesets from most old-school RPGs (5e Shadowrun!).

This kotaku piece might whet your appetite like it did mine... http://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/07/playin ... et-easier/

So I'm wondering if we have anyone playing, or anyone who might be interested in doing an 8 to 11pm session one or two nights a week. Not ongoing, just until the madness takes me elsewhere. But hot damn have I wanted to get back into this for a long time now and R20 looks magnificent.

Awesome! Shadowrun is only a suggestion, they have HEAPS of stuff in there.

I'm tempted to buy the first D&D campaign they've just released, apparently it's good for beginners. It's been over 20 years since I GM'd one of these :/

Holy shit that tutorial. Sure is a LOT of depth to what initially looks like a simple playing field.

I did the same as you Mellie, saw that Kotaku article and went looking.
I would be happy to attempt something, never done anything like this, so would be learning along the way.

Var was trying to talk me into running a vaguely-planned Earthdawn (basically the fantasy version of Shadowrun, same world thousands of years earlier) campaign I'm thinking about on it, haven't played around with the software too much yet though.

I'd be keen, I do work weird hours but I've been looking for a group to play with on Roll20 :)
Would even be happy to help setup and run a campaign, if I can't play.

Anyone had a chance to play with this a bit and get something setup?
