Hell yeah I can still remember a certain admin going off in IRC about the cheaters and the stupid and only way they had to ban them. :P

I gave up on that game not long before the servers for it were shut. I put up with it for around 3 years before it became too much and I've played it probably 3 times since. No interest in the game at all now. So many hours spent admining it, despite lack of way to actually rid the server of the idiots.

At least in Minecraft I can get rid of the pests for a long time.
I didn't say it was you, though was a funny night. :auto-nx: Image

It could have been me, but unlikely, given that I rarely went on IRC. I spent most of my on-line time in the game. What was a laugh in the IRC admin channel were the frequent CS-S auto ban notifications due to players mentioning the names of certain websites.

Nah it was MM and I still see the auto ban messages and laugh when I see them. 8)

I'm not sure there was an appreciation that, 80-90% of the website really wasn't seen by the public.

I spent a lot of time writing those tools, and they worked great. It was sad to see them go.

khaotiklord, that's who I was thinking of :)

I watched some gameplay on YouTube yesterday, just for the memories. Was nice seeing the old maps again, but it certainly looked even more dated that my memory recalled.
Don't get me wrong, I did have many a fun hours in that game. Just sad that in the end, the negatives in that game out-weighed the positives.

Especially so when your ability to enjoy the game is hampered by having to repeatedly deal with those headaches as an admin I'm sure! It was definitely fun, CTF was my thing back then and I do miss it. I definitely don't miss the constant hackers though!
