The EB guy tried to upsell me on those things also.
Thankfully I had already preplanned how mine was going to be setup.

Got a 5 metre HDMI cable for about 8 bucks at Kmart and ran that invisibly under/around furniture and rugs to the telly, and got the Snes itself sitting on my coffee table's undershelf (Where I have a powerstrip for power anyway for various other things)
Honestly I prefer having the entire console near me on the couch compared to just a longer controller cable due to the way that the Reset button works for save states, and there being no real other way to quit games.

Yeah, I got no source of power around my couch and longer USB and HDMI cables would have cost more than the $14 I spent on the two 3m extension cables. The ones in store are more expensive and also shorter so they weren't going to be considered either. I'll probably mod the mini so I can reset it using the controller.

As for today, more expensive purchases...

Image

Good arch support in these so my feet won't ache as much hopefully. Need something for when I'm at home too now.

I used to buy cheaper versions of these for years and loved them.. can't find them anywhere now, and I'm not paying that much lol.

Yeah, I normally pay $80 or less for sandals but my plantar fibromatosis requires me to get what will help with the pain. I tried look for fitflops but none of the stores I went to stocked mens fitflops. Got sick of the hunt so just bought the birkenstocks.

But on the topic of cheaper options, I just ordered 3 of the following (not all black, also got coral and navy)...

Yeah, expensive day indeed.

If you need something with good arch support, take a look...

Not a bad price... delivery time of 23-47 days is a tad long for me though... I'll just live with my $14 purchase that's arriving next week.

Heh, yep saw that yesterday.
I went ahead and got one.

Also not to derail this too much into a Snes classic thread, but I was sort of googling and reading up on some of the features and apparently you can plug a wii controller onto these things which have the home screen button right there on the pad. Might be useful for those not near the machine, and I might actually look into one of them myself since you can grab them for about <$10 online these days.

I'm going to test this tonight... as I still have 2 of the Wii Pro controllers.
Will let you know how it goes...

Thought I'd start a SNES mini thread for us to consolidate discussion there. God knows I will have more to say on the little console that could.

So gun magazines for the gun I bought is in excess of $100. I'm just going to probably buy a magazine from the USA and get it forwarded and save myself at least $60.

The motherboard I bought has problems. I'm not going to wait 4 weeks, so I bought another one. Exact same.

I sent that in ages ago. 4 weeks later it got approved. I have the gun now. Already been to Silverdale to sight it in. I'd love that as a job - get paid to shoot guns! Literally saw 1 of the 2 guys there set his gun up and spend 30 minutes shooting.

It's quicker approval after the 1st one. All "my" guns were under my father's name. Had a license since I was 13, just never changed the guns to a different owner. Never got around to it. I'm now obviously older than 18. just haven't bothered. Seems like a lot of hassle - fill a form, take it to a gun dealer, sign another thing, wait, etc.

I think you're mixing up your PTA and B709A, the PTA is your permit to acquire which you've now got, the B709A is required for the importation of firearms, handguns, firearm parts/accessories etc. If customs nabs your magazine, you'll need to produce a B709A before they'll allow you to have it.

I haven't had to use one in a few years now, but if you can't produce it then border farce will destroy your magazine.. had a few nasty letters for things over the years.

If customs nabs it. Considering the stuff I import, they probably look at all my parcels just to see what I've recently bought. They also probably think I'm a serial killer.
Guess I might have to fill one out. I won't pay our ridiculous prices.
Might not get a magazine, IDK yet.

Yeah, I've had some things get through that shouldn't..and had knives confiscated and destroyed for no good reason that I can buy locally for 4x the price, it's bullshit..hence why I call them border farce.

It's worth chucking in the B709a if you're going to try and get the mag in, better then throwing your order down the toilet just in case - I used to get into magazines and increasing the capacity for shits and giggles and the looks, honestly all I want now is a simple rifle, they all shoot better than I do.

Got 5x these coming...

Image

My previous one seems to be faulty. Slot 1 works but slot 2 doesn't read the microSD card in it. Most people online say this seems to be common and one needs to buy a few of them just in case.

Ironically, the two 32Gb cards I planned to use with these is kinda obsolete already... I have a 64Gb lexar microSD card with a USB adapter I rarely use (I use the adapter more to get photos off peoples' phones from time to time at work). So I tried the 64Gb in my single slot memory stick adapter and it seems to do the job in my PSP. Now I can play Diablo on the go - lol
