Steam going AUD

No doubt the rest of you got an email saying the below as well...
Steam will soon be priced in Australian Dollars!

If your Steam wallet has any money in it on November 21st, 2018, your U.S. Dollar balance will be converted to AUD, at a conversion rate dictated by market value at the time of conversion.

To view your account balance, simply log into your Steam client or the Steam website at http://www.steampowered.com. Once you have logged in, you will see your balance in the upper-right corner next to your account name.
Now I'm hoping that the AUD drops in value against USD by the 21st.

They'll just use it to price gouge us somehow.

Probably. Blizzard does the same thing with their games.

But then I'm a tightarse and only get Steam games from the likes of Humble Bundle, Fanatical or if there's a super huge discount on the Steam store.

Valve has been pretty good with their pricing so far. It's the other publishers that have been awful.

Humble store has made the switch already (from what I can see - no bonus aussie tax there AFAIK)

It's not too often these days that I buy a game directly from a distributor like Steam anyway, I usually buy CD Keys.

Should probably note some current prices to compare, see if we get fair pricing. Hopefully they won't be adjusting prices constantly according to how our dollar is doing.

I see this has gone live today, with lots of games not being available to Aussies anymore as the publisher didn't set a regional price.
Quick look seems to show good pricing on most things. A couple of games seem to be that bit higher than others, and matching bricks and mortar stores.

The Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition doesn't have a price set, nooooooooo. :(
Hopefully some of the prices will get fixed as publishers realise they need to do it. Otherwise they're going to miss a heck of a lot of sales come Christmas.

Also a couple of games have increased prices since the change already... Ass Creed Odyssey being the big named one.
