If you're curious, here's Jonny Robot's opinion/review of Fallout 4 - trying to get him to join us here, but he's in the middle of exams so might not pop in just yet.

JB shipped my copy on sunday. Not expecting to get my copy until next week due to my location. It normally takes about 5 days for things to turn up. And no tracking number. Sigh.

Ugh, there's like 5 Gb on the disc. Doesn't bode well for how much needs to be downloaded.

It's a bit of a trend, sorry. On one hand, you know you're getting the most updated version. On the other... ugh.

I was expecting a large download for the physical release, but that's ridiculous. What the hell is the point of buying physical copies of games nowadays?

I was hoping for at least a double layered DVD with 18GB, but nope. Oh well, shouldn't take too long to download, I can't really play until after 10pm anyway.

Huh? Pretty sure a double layered DVD can only hold around 8-9GB or so...maybe two double layered DVDs?

Yeah you're right, either way I was expecting more than 5GB when they initially said the disk won't contain the whole game.

Downloaded it last night, the unpacking and decrypting took around 15 minutes.

Booted up and made a character (FemShep) then quit out to try and get SLI working, but no luck.

From what I've read, there might not even be an SLI profile yet =S

My only issue with the reviews is that they seems to be glossing over the technical issues.

There are still the usual glitches and weird oddities that come with a Bethesda game, such as floating NPCs and animals, glitchy movement, clipping issues and terrible companion pathfinding.

Reviewers seem to be ignoring them, as if they're ok in a 2015 release.

It's a tough balance because eventually those issues would be fixed, then the review wouldn't reflect the actual game.

Personally, I think once a game is officially released it is fair game on calling it out for any flaws and bugs. It has to be judged on what it is, not what it could be (That's not in relation to any review here, just a general comment).

I'm two hours "in" and my dog brought me a stimpack so I didn't have to walk 5 metres. Game of the year, every year, forever. :)

Just got a text from Aus Post that my package is ready to pick up, their tracking system is so hopeless.

If anyone from EB games is reading this sorry for accusing you of trying to fuck me earlier, but at least I just had a whinge on a forum and waiting for more news and didn't go off at them on twitter or facebook like I've seen other people do.

Now I need to get out of work at get to the post office, my partner has my car today and I don't knock off until 4pm.

Console command for FOV doesn't work so if you want to change your FOV you gotta do the ini edit like the last games.
