A/V Receivers suggestion

Post by NoobyMcNoobnoob » 13 Dec 2016, 22:56

Anyone got any good suggestions for a decent home theater a/v receiver?
currently have a Pioneer VSX-522 however ive lost all sound, from what i have seen on the net that model board has a few problems with hdmi connectivity, and christ knows how much its going to cost to fix.
so looking for a reliable replacement, already good for the speakers and such just need the main unit, anyhting with 4+ hdmi ports would be awesome, or just gimme what brands names i should get over others, i thoguht pioneer was a good one but the countdown to immanent failure after warranty is not my favourite business practice

I have what I believe is a Yamaha RX-V467 (might be wrong on exact model). Haven't had any issues at all with it for the past 5+ years. Came as part of a package too.
Other brand I've heard good things about is Onkyo, but I haven't really looked in ages.

I have a Sony amp, but would seriously consider a Yamaha as my next one as well.

I won't even say what sort of Amplifier I have... it's a Pioneer and comes from a time where amps that don't support 5.1 speakers were still around. I can still connect my PS3 up to it for some bitchin sounds and that's all that matters.

I have a Denon AVR X-1000 and it has been great, it was pretty reasonably priced as well. Although depends on your budget of course.
