Movie's official title is released now. Trailer will be shown at next weekend's superbowl... but could be released earlier.

Nice little, not-really-spoilery snippet from quite a brutal fight in the film. Haven't seen this many throat shots since it became Liam Neeson's favorite body part to attack.

Getting all sorts of reviews for this. Definitely quite a few saying this is going to be the best action movie for a while and one even said that it's on par with the first one with how you need to pay attention to what is going on (which I like). I'll get to decide next week I'd say. Doubt this clip below will keep me entertained till then.

Watched this tonight... enjoyed it quite a bit but I think the plot twists were quite easy to guess. The last movie was constructed better due to the action set pieces moving along faster but this sixth entry is still quite enjoyable. I was expecting the final fight to be more brutal... that fight is the bathroom one.

Quite liked the throwback to the Max character from the first movie. Seems she had been working for the CIA all these years still operating as an arms broker but feeding the CIA intel. And it's the family business now.

If you pay attention, there's a lot of throwbacks to previous films including...

- use of a fake setting to coax someone into giving up information from the start of the first MI film. Even dialogue used is similar.
- spiral staircase shot similar to one from the first MI film
- the long take of Cruise running in MI3
- shot of Cruise failing to catch his nemesis whilst they fly off in a helicopter (reminiscent of MI3's excellent bridge attack sequence's ending)
- The White Widow's flirty attitude towards Ethan Hunt channeling the same sort of chemistry the character's mother had with Hunt
- Some free climbing (really, there's not much you'd want to take from MI2)
- The damaged mask making machine similar to the same thing happening in MI4
- Hunt going into a meeting without a mask and hoping the person he's meeting has never seen the person he's impersonating (similar to MI4)

Yes, I do love my MI films.

I really enjoyed this, as you say all the throwbacks were cool, and it tied a lot of details together.

I also thought this had some really clean action scenes that were easy to follow, which I guess is easier when you've got a nutcase like Cruise doing a lot of his own stunts lol

I've picked up a bit of a logical flaw on rewatching this... that bit at the beginning when the nuclear physicist unlocks his phone...

what kind of phone did he have that it didn't show the time or date when in locked mode? That would have alerted him to the fact that it had only been an hour since the car crash, not two weeks. And how poorly funded are the IMF in that they can't afford someone to crack into the phone itself?

Still love this movie though despite the flaws becoming more evident.
