It's that time of year again where I plan a new build, the last few years I haven't actually pulled the trigger on it but this year for sure

Cheers

Yeah agreed on the GPU costs but not sure that is going to change any time soonMini wrote: ↑21 Feb 2018, 10:51Problem at the moment is that GPU prices are higher than they should be due to stupid crypto miners.
I love my H100i, so much quieter than the old stock coolers I was used too, and keeps my AMD CPU cool.
What case are you putting it all into?
And I'm assuming you are bringing some other HDD's over from an old build?
I have a Dell 23inch 1080p monitor atm, once I get this built the next purchase will likely be a new monitor around 27inch with 144Hz, 1440p and Gsync
For home/gaming use, it really seems to be pretty minor/not at all (Didn't impact my 7700k in the slightest), and I haven't seen any benchmarks that show a dramatic change. (There absolutely does seem to be an impact on server/data centre loads, but that's some fairly specific loads you probably won't see at home).
Oh wow I never thought I would have space issues with this caseBicketybam wrote: ↑22 Feb 2018, 14:37My only concern would be (considering I had an 800D) with where that radiator and its fans are going to go with that board. With the size of that shield area over the IO component, there won't be any room in the third fan slot above it and then you need to consider spacing from above with where the ram slots are as well. It probably should fit, it just may be tight. It's just more modern cases give a little bit more space up there now.
Overall seems like a decent build to me, the 1080ti will be good, I've got a normal 1080 and it runs fantastic.
