Re: Fallout 76
The RPG part might be right, a Rust/Ark/Conan:Exiles veined game...

Do like the idea of it being set 25 years after the bombs dropped. Vault 76 was one of the control vaults, with just a bunch of people and adequate supplies, no crazy experiments like some of the others.
Wonder why there's only the one resident left in Vault 76 though? Where'd everyone else go? Keen to find out more.

The more I think about this the more I like it. One thing that has always bugged me about the survival RPG genre is all of them feel like buggy indy studio releases, where they have a lot of good ideas but don't have the resources to create a game with as much polish as a triple A title. The idea that Bethesda would release such a game (and yes I know, Bethesda aren't exactly known for bug-free games) and in the Fallout universe sounds like it could have a lot of potential to me.Mini wrote: ↑31 May 2018, 07:47The RPG part might be right, a Rust/Ark/Conan:Exiles veined game...

Re: Fallout 76
looks interesting, i tend to steer away from the ark/rust type of games (usually due to early access) but I could play this if everything works the way it should

A workmate sent me this, looks like this news leaked late last year, but drowned out in a sea of idiocy

No! No! No!
It's gonna be a driving game set in the post apocalyptic world of Fallout and the spiritual successor to this...

On a more serious note, I'm intrigued by this. After playing Diablo 3's adventure mode for so long where one is focused on gearing up, running random world quests, and repeating so that you perfect your build in order to tackle higher difficulties, this might be right up my alley.
Maybe it is time for that new PC after all

The latest leak is that there will be No Free Mods for Fallout 76. For "security reasons (citing stolen mods and adult mods)", all mods will only be available through the Creation Club...
Whether it is true or not, I suppose we will find out on June 11th. Make more $$$ or keep modding free?

The NoClip doco on Fallout 76's development reveals a whole heap of new information on top of what was shown during Bethesda's conference. It's sounding reeeeally fun.

Re: Fallout 76
They invited a bunch of people to a fancy hotel and still managed to get a griefer in there. Still very much suspect there's going to be a lot of griefing, but all the CAMP and cooperative stuff looks great. There's random events in the wild for individuals or groups to come together and complete as well.

Re: Fallout 76
Only a couple of days until the full release. Wrote a little bit about playing it solo for the front page yesterday.
Played all the beta sessions that were available on PC, got to level 24, my inventory and stash are chockers full of junk, looking forward to jumping back in. Anyone else going to be playing?

I don't know...
I am really on the fence about it, and so I'm just kinda waiting to see how release goes and then deciding later.

I missed a bunch of the first session because of that, so sad. At least they probably won't make that mistake again.

Re: Fallout 76
Because it's not been mentioned here yet I'll just note that the game runs on Amazon Cloud servers, meaning we have local servers to play on for a change. No pings listed in game but it was a pretty smooth experience during the beta on PC. That and the potential for griefing were my main concerns with the multiplayer and I've yet to be griefed in the game.
Cue griefing on login tonight.
New Zealand get the game the earliest in the world, followed by a simultaneous launch in the rest of Australia. We're finally not being left behind in every possible way!
