LOL. How did I know that topic would come up?

In all seriousness, I'm thinking:

- Day 1: Fly into Hobart, visit either Mt Wellington or Cascade Beer Factory, check into hotel, dinner at Salamanca
- Day 2: Convict Trail: Tassie Devil Conservation, Port Arthur, Federation Chocolate Factory, Lavender Farm, Dinner at Hobart. OR full day exploring Hobart and throw either Mt Wellington or Cascade Beer Factory here.
- Day 3: Check out of hotel, do Southern Trail... Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves, hot springs, Dinner and stay at a Bruny Island ocean cottage
- Day 4: Bruny Island - full day exploring Bruny Island, Penguin viewing, Overnight at a Bruny Island ocean cottage
- Day 5: Check out, drive back to Hobart - Fly out

Half of these are on my bucket list for Tassie, the other half I've done and thought the lady would enjoy.

EDIT: Might have to rethink the overnight at Bruny Island... it's all booked out at the more affordable hotels during the Easter holidays.

I'm annoyed that I didn't make plans for Easter earlier - I sat on the knowledge that there's 3 public holidays in a week and didn't book anything.

Right? I have no plans between 13th and 22nd, might nip to Canberra and visit my Aunt for a night or two.

I'm also a bit saddened that Smolt at Salamanca Square has closed down in September 2017. They did great breakfast.

These days surely all one needs to eat well is an internet connection on their phone. Thanks to trip advisor, I find great places to eat wherever I go.

Yeah, I'll probably be resorting to Zomato or Trip Advisor... though I really liked the whiting, fried egg, pickled cabbage and fragrant rice breakfast Smolt did. You can't find that sort of a meal easily.

We'll probably end up getting breakfast options from Woolies so we can stay back at the hotel and sleep in.

Our strategy tends to be just having coffee for breakfast, then having an early-ish lunch. So proximity to good coffee is essential for hotel selection. :P

Yeah, I can't do coffee on these trips... I don't do long blacks and milk messes with my tummy and I end up taking multiple shit breaks throughout the day.

Found some decent accommodation at Bruny Island!

Just goes to show that you need to make sure Google doesn't show the shittiest accommodation you have first up in a search for people to take notice of you.

I could link you to something on Reddit that would be your worst nightmare, but seeing as the post has scarred Disco, Neko and I for life, I won't do that

I finally got rid of my Commonwealth Bank CC and savings account. No more paying account fees for me.

Final step in my path to financial maturity is to switch from my retail super fund to an industry one, but I've got to get my head around the whole life insurance thing first...

There are some decent financial planners out there that can help you sort through that stuff - different combinations of waiting periods/exclusions etc can make that stuff a minefield.

Did anyone else get one?

Been plagued by a headache for almost 24 hours, bordering on migraine level, feel like my head is jammed in a vice.

How are y'all going with your Advent Calendars?

Day 1 was 'The Silly Season' Hoppy Lager by Hop Nation Brewing Co, probably a 7/10 rating from me, I enjoyed it - thumbs down from Disco, tho.
Image

Day 2 was 'Citrus Bling' IPA from Bridge Road Brewers, 2/10 for me, I didn't even finish it - Disco liked this one though.
