The magic smoke from inside my monitor decided to escape this morning when I turned my computer on :( ,(it was around 9 years old so I shouldn't be too upset ;) ), so had to replace it , got quite a good one from officeworks for only $147 , a HP 24o , 24 inch ,(vs the old ones 22) and full HD - hell of a difference visually now compared to the old one :D :D

I think I have a similar monitor Mugsy, thought mine was BW2240 (or similar)... Think it is 11 or 12 years old though...
Also purchased 4 more wheels for the RC car...

Well, there's an annual fee associated with this so I'm counting it as a purchase... new Amex card! Now to get me my 100k bonus points.

EDIT: Going to a kid's birthday party this weekend with the girlfriend. Got these as gifts:

Also got her a bunch of cushion covers from H&M.

Early thirties... but she does have friends with young kids :P

That might explain why she wants me to put one in her.

EB is having a sale and selling a ton of merchandising for half price , picked up a Fallout 76 tricentennial fleece throw , it's a decent size too , 114cm x 152cm.

In all fairness, I'm getting a bit out of control too. I'm not putting my condom on until we're well into the deed.

We've discussed having kids before marriage but both sides of our families want to see marriage first or there will be tension. It's because of that my common sense eventually kicks in. Otherwise I would have knocked her up already.

Back on topic, I was hoping my first purchase with my amex card would be ny dinner at gyg last night but they don't accept amex. I got grocery shopping later at least.

Went into woolies to get a gift bag for the kid's birthday party and the only gift bag they had was an Avengers themed one... how ironic!

My Amex card issued me a 'spend $10 at woolies and get $5 back' deal which, along with something for breakfast tomorrow, sorted out that deal so the bag was essentially free!

The native emulation is suppose to be horrible but it's easily hacked so you can put a better emulator on it to play the games with nil sound or graphics problems.

I'm just waiting for the Mega Drive mini now.

Oooh! I like Heineken... one of my fondest memories was dad cooking up some crab and he gave me some cash to go get a 6 pack of beer. The family sat down to a nice dinner of crab with a cold beer on the side. Even mum had a beer that night. Almost half a lifetime ago that.

Some new down jackets for the girlfriend and moi...

Was originally thinking of looking at these on the weekend with her but the last day of the sale was today so a quick detour on the way to work was in order. Not that I think they're worth the RRP but buying on sale saved me $500. The girlfriend was after a down jacket on the weekend to keep warm on her early morning starts (her uniform is all black so her work place only allows black jackets) so hopefully this will do the job.

They fold down nice and snugly. The grey one is OK for me to wear on the way to work but not really suitable for the office. I might leave a puffer vest in the office and wear this to and from work.

Going on a few adventures in the next few years... booked (well, actually cancelled and re-booked) one this week for August 2020. We're off on an 11 night cruise to check out Papua New Guinea.

I originally booked us in a balcony cabin, but they recently had a sale where we could get a suite for $700 extra BUT it came with $600 on board spending money... which we would be paying for and using anyway... so really it's only costing us $100 more for the mini-suite.

Sounds like you and Disco have got a fun time ahead of you!

I had a productive day getting my girl's new couch delivered before we embarked on a visit to Chermside shopping centre. We managed to get her an extra cushion cover from H&M so that her colour scheme is complete for the new couch (H&M's aussie website sucks and doesn't have the item).

Also bought her a few things from Sephora including this:

Image

Our plan was to go there for a free gift only but the purchase included another gift... a travel mirror that doubles as a power bank. I told her I'd have a use for that too but I understood if she needed to use it herself to make sure she looked good and had power to take selfies. She took the sarcasm well.

Also bought her this jacket from Zara:

Image

I wanted to get her this other bomber jacket that she liked but the only one they have in stock had a burn mark on the back. Bad luck I guess.

Also had a wonderful sushi dinner.

I managed to get hit the $1k mark for expenditure on my first month on my Amex card... so that's 25k points.
