Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Loved Wildlands but I might wait for this one to drop in price before I get it.

Is this the thing I got an invite to the 3 day beta for? Maybe I should watch these later... :D

Beta runs 5-8th September so I imagine there'll be a bunch of impressions pop up thereafter.

Yeah, that would be the beta. Whilst I really enjoyed Wildlands, I don't have the time to play too many games and D3 is keeping me occupied. So Breakpoint will be a bargain bin purchase.

You know, I loved Wildlands despite the lacklustre expansion dlcs so was hoping that Breakpoint would be a step forward. It's apparently 10 steps back:

I guess it'll be in the bargain bin sooner - lol

Eh, i wonder how the gameplay is, no care if there are microtransactions. You know who bitches about microtransactions? Unemployed people.

Sounds like you can get most of the stuff through regular gameplay still, just a matter of how much grinding is required to get the things you really want. Hopefully it's just like Wildlands and you just have to hunt down the boxes.

Well, hopefully for the people who buy it. I'd probably just play more Wildlands.

Hmmm, with the game purchasable for $15 from Epic Store, I guess the above comment from last October turned out to be true!

I have been playing it lately and they have fixed lots of things, including getting rid of the gear levels if you want. You can play it very similar to Wildlands now.
I have actually really enjoyed it, playing it like The Division though and not thinking of it as a war sim game and its fine. Much more of an arcadie shooter.

I haven't had any issues when enemies spawning when I was on them, getting stuck on terrain or other items yes.
I did buy it on the Epic store, as it was cheaper there than directly through the UPlay store (Which is stupid)
Hey Mini, if you buy though the Epic Store, does the game come up in Uplay so that you can get the Uplay Club challenges and Club rewards. I'm guessing there's a reward of some sort for owning The Division 2 and maybe Wildlands?

As you said, if played as an arcadey shooter like The Division (but with no health bars on enemies thank god), I can see this being enjoyable. The Division is nice but the lack of vehicles and bullet sponge enemies don't do it for me. The Ghost Experience update and the upcoming AI team mates one should make this game more like what I want to play.

Yes it comes up in UPlay, so I always launch from there, as that also gives the option of launching using Vulkan rather than direct x, where the Epic store doesn't.

I have it set so there are gear levels, and some enemies (Large tanks) do have health bars, but I haven't seen a person with one (Or not that I remember)

I accidentally killed a boss I was chasing for a mission last night when I was just killing anything that walked through a door. He was no harder than his mates that walked through before him.

Cheers Mini!

I think I'll buy it now.

I can certainly see why people see this as a step back from Wildlands though. ASQD gaming said that it forgoes quite a lot of weapons from Wildlands (no MSR sniper rifle from what I can tell), mission structure from Wildlands is more preferable to him, fighting drones is boring, and it doesn't have the varied environments that fictional Bolvia had. Ballistics from Wildlands still better apparently. However, the vehicle controls of Breakpoint is improved and the ballistics are fine as an arcadey shooter. I'm also keen to see the Terminator mission.

Terminator mission was interesting, I have only done the first one so far, I think there are more.
I did find a factory with heaps of them in it...
Also there are Splinter Cell missions too where you actually work with the Splinter Cell guy (I don't remember his name)

Flying a helicopter is way easier than Wildlands, it is actually fun this time.

And driving is fun.

There is also stamina when you are running, which is also used when sliding/falling down hills...
Overall as a forest shooter with lots of missions it is fun. Just gotta be careful as it is possible to accidentally start the final mission against he big bad guy really early... and that mission feels bugged out in MP

Sam Fisher... I've yet to do his Wildlands mission as well... though, to be honest most of the new missions in Wildlands are quite annoying in that they require too much stealth (the kinds without killing) of the crappy base jumping mechanics. The Predator mission I've still yet to finish too. Came close a while back.

The forest/island setting of Breakpoint makes me feel like they need to have dinosaurs showing up somewhere, especially on Golem Island...

I need to find this Terminator factory you speak of!

EDIT: I just watched the part in Angry Joe's review where he got the final boss mission after 1hr of play... yeah, that's pretty bad.

I'm such a prick... instead of using 40 Uplay points to buy a jeep so I can traverse the open world on land, I jump into a co-op game to unlock the free jeep for playing co-op and then leave.

I still need to participate in a Titan Raid, a match of Ghost War and kill an enemy in Ghost War, and Kill an Aamon. Most of the other tasks for Uplay points I should be able to do in the course of playing the campaign.

Yeah, I'm up to about $30k credits now I think. Increased a lot faster than expected.

I'll likely get the attack heli first since I spend so much time flying around the place. And yeah, the vehicle controls are a lot better in this game.

It's a pity the game is set on a fictional, remote island... it just doesn't feel lived in like Wildlands.

I still need to kill someone in Ghost War so I can get my 20 Uplay points. The first game I played my side was absolutely owned. The second game was more balanced. It was 3v3 for a while... the two team mates I had took out two more enemies but the last guy was no where to be found. It seemed like the ideal time to activate the scanner in the middle of the map and we ended up finding the last guy.

It is set in a fictional island because they got in a lot of hot water from Bolivia for the last game.
Countries don't like being shown as drug running cartels even if that is what they are.
